I moved to Cumberland County 10 years ago with my husband, Steve, and 4
daughers. My oldest daughter's name is Britney. She is 21. She attends UT
Knoxville, and is a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority. Taylor is
my 2nd
daughter. She is a Junior at Stone Memorial High School. She is a member
of the
Cheerleading Squad. My last two girls are twins. Their names are Brooke and
Riley.
They attend 8th grade here at Stone Elementary. They are members of the
Stone
Elementary Basketball Team.
I have been teaching for 20 years. I have taught Kindergarten, lst,
2nd
and 3rd
Grades. I have taught lst Grade Inclusion and I
"Looped" with my students in lst Grade.
I have many interests in teaching, but my favorite is teaching children
how to read.
I enjoy seeing the progress they make from August through May. I use music,
and lots
of hands on learning with my students. They seem to enjoy the variety that
my
classroom offers. We do a lot of writing activities to make the connection
from letters to
sounds more meaningful.
As a hobby I enjoy subcontracting houses and selling them. In my
free
time I'm
usually busy building a house , selling a house or moving into a NEW house.
My
other hobby is excercising and weightlifting. I am a member at the CMC
Wellness
Complex where I enjoy working out on a daily basis. I believe that a fit
body helps
promote a healthy mind.
I am a very active person. In the past I have been the Stone
Elementary
Cheerleader Sponsor, and coached the JV Girls
Basketball Team.
The students in my classroom will be given the opportunity to learn in a fun
way. I want
everyone to learn to LOVE to read. I also want them to learn how to become a
better
reader. Here's the key: READ! READ! READ! READ! ....etc.
