About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. I grew up living all over this country as part of a military family. I graduated from Cookeville High School in 1986. I attended Tennessee Technological University and received two degrees in Education. In 1990, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I went back and earned my Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an empasis on Early Childhood Education in 1993. I taught at the Tech Early Enrichment Program, working with children ages two to five and college students. My first public school postition was at North Cumberland Elementary where I taught third grade for two years before moving down to Kindergarten. I was lucky enough to move to Stone Elementary when it opened and have been here ever since. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to work with teachers and incoporating technology into classrooms through the ORBIT grant. I am very happy to be back in Kindergarten.
