Redditt - week of November 2 - 6th
Reading 1st, 3rd and 4th period - we are reading "Passage to Freedom." This is a biography story about a Japenese diplomat who issues visas to refugees during WWII. Our skill for the week is author's purpose. Trial spelling test is Thursday. Spelling and reading test on Friday.
3rd period - We are reading an Alaskan Indian legend story titled, "The Girl Who Married the Moon." Our skill for the week is inference. Trial spelling on Thursday. Reading and spelling test on Friday.

We are doing book clubs again. The following are DUE dates when certain pages are to be read by:

FRIDAY the 13th - BOOK MUST BE FINISHED!
We will be working on projects the week of November 16 - 20th for their 1st book club presentation this 2nd nine weeks.
** REMINDER - AR points can be earned from book club but will not be enough to make an AR goal. Students MUST read on their own to make their goal. They have been given their new goals and levels.

This week we are continuing to study persuasive writing in letter writing. Our pretend situation is that the school officials are considering having school on Saturdays. It's our job to "persuade" them through a letter why this is not a great idea.
