About The Teacher

I have been teaching for 7 years. This is my 6th year at Stoner Creek
Elementary. I've taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, 1st grade, kindergarten and now
I'm teaching 2nd grade. This will be my first year in 2nd grade. I'm very
excited about being at this grade level. It's always a challenge to go into a
grade you've never taught before and I'm looking forward to meeting that
challenge. It is going to be a great year!!

I have been married for 7 years (Aug 3)to a wonderful man, Michael. We have 3
children together. Joshua is 6 and in the 1st grade, Arianna is 4 and in the
Learning Center Preschool here at Stoner Creek. We recently added a new
addition to our family. Samantha was born on March 30. Having 3 young children
at home definitely keeps me busy. I like to think it keeps me young, but
sometimes I feel like they are making me old before my time. LOL We are
loving it though. My husband brought with him a son into my life. Christian is
now 19. I met him when he was 6 years old so he may as well be mine too. It's
interesting having an adult child. Ask me about it sometime. ;-)

If you know anything about me you know that I am a huge football fan. No,
sorry, I'm not a UT fan. I am a Georgia Bulldog through and through. It's hard
living in the land of orange in the fall. *sigh* I even have an English
Bulldog named Georgia. And yes she is a descendant of the University of
Georgia mascots. ;-)

I am also a huge Bon Jovi fan. If you look around my room you will see
evidence of that. I've been a fan since I was about 13 years old and I'm still
going strong today. There should be a new tour coming up soon so I'm sure you
will hear all about my excitement. ;-)

I'm looking forward to a fabulous year in 2nd grade!!

Never Never Give Up!

Never, Never Give Up!
This is one idea that I hope my students learn this year. School can
be filled with exciting new things and sometimes it can be frustrating for
students as they try new things and learn new ideas. I constantly remind
the students to Never give up! I want my students to know that when
something is hard they have to keep trying and find a way to make it work
for them. I hope as the students continue to learn they will remember to
Never give up!
