Meeting Minutes

October 27^th 2009

6:30pm

 

 

Leslie Robbins called meeting to order and introduced guest speaker, Cindy Loftin, from Dyslexia Center of Tennessee.

 

Cindy Loftin spoke regarding learning difficulties in children, how to test and how to overcome.

 

Officer Reports:

Christy Arnold – reported Fun Run deposits were $18,351.25.  That figure does not include expenditures.  Hoping to clear about $15,000.  At the end of the Fall Festival, we will stop selling Smart Cards.  Smart Cards will reimburse the school $7 for each smart card sold.

 

Fall Festival:

Maureen VanHouten – reported that she still needs more volunteers for day and night.  Reminders going out for volunteers, cokes, baked goods, etc.

 

School & Community Support – pea gravel has been added to beds; have someone who works for USDA who may be able to help fix beds

 

Trash for Cash:

Tricia Terry – box tops & soup labels just sent off; 400 ink cartridges collected – helps art department; need to collect as many pull tabs as possible by Nov 13^th; close to 9000 tabs sent in!  Capri Suns, send in – drain juice and no straws, please.

Purity promotion - $6250 will go to the winning school; promotion October 18^th – November 25^th; based on milk consumption percentage per student; if parents can purchase milk “snacks” for classes, that would boost consumption at the school; Titans will come to pep rally at school if we win; Lots of great milk promotions going on for a month
