Here are a few answers to the questions I get asked most ...
Can I volunteer in my child's class?
Yes. I am always in need of an extra hand and welcome the opportunity to workwith you. My desire is to create a classroom welcoming to parents andstudents. Just send me a note or give me a call to let me know when you wouldlike to come to our classroom. Remember ... you must always check in with thefront office first.Back to Top

Will my child have a snack time? What about a bottled water during class?
We will have snack on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The children will beable to purchase snacks from the concessions or vending machines. They canalso bring their own from home - remember we promote healthy snacks.I encourage my students to drink lots of water for their health. They areallowed to keep a water bottle (only water) at their desks at all times.Back to Top

What is your policy on making up work due to an absence?
If a child is absent I like to make sure that work is sent home that eveningto keep them on track. All missed work will be due three days after returningto school. I will need a name of someone that will be responsible forpicking up your child's work when they are absent. I understand that childrenget sick and that days missed are necessary at times but your cooperation inthis matter will insure that your child does not get behind.Back to Top

What about homework?
I do not like to send home nightly homework. I want the children to be ableto "be children" when they get home and enjoy the family. In an effort tovalue your family time I will try to send homework in minimal amounts. I willonly do this occasionally, and not on a regular basis. However, the childrenare expected to complete their work on a daily basis. If your child is havingtrouble finishing, his/her work will be sent home to complete so that it is notlate. Any unfinished work or homework will be in your child's nightly folderand must be completed and returned to teacher the next day.Back to Top

How will I know what is going on in my child's class?
I send home a weekly news letter to let you know what is coming up. Thisnews letter will be in your child's weekly folder. You will need to sign thisfolder so that I know you received it. I mayalso send home letters with any unexpected or unusual happenings in theirnightly folder (this is were any homework will be as well). It is veryimportant for you to check yourchild's folder each night - so that you get anyinformation that might be in there.Back to Top
