--------------------------------------
Can I volunteer in my child's class?
Yes. I am always in need of an extra hand and welcome the opportunity to work
with you. My desire is to create a classroom welcoming to parents and
students. Just send me a note or give me a call to let me know when you would
like to come to our classroom. Remember ... you must always check in with the
front office first.
--------------------------------------
Can I eat lunch with my child?
Yes. You are welcome to eat with your child any time. Again, just make sure
that you check in the office first and just meet your child in the lunchroom.

Will my child have a snack time? What about a bottled water during class?
We will have snack on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The children will be
able to purchase snacks from the concessions or vending machines. They can
also bring their own from home - remember we promote healthy snacks.
I encourage my students to drink lots of water for their health. They are
allowed to keep a water bottle (only water) at their desks at all times.

What is your policy on making up work due to an absence?
If a child is absent I like to make sure that work is sent home that evening
to keep them on track. All missed work will be due three days after returning
to school. I will need a name of someone that will be responsible for
picking up your child's work when they are absent. I understand that children
get sick and that days missed are necessary at times but your cooperation in
this matter will insure that your child does not get behind.
--------------------------------------
What about homework?
I do not like to send home nightly homework. I want the children to be able
to "be children" when they get home and enjoy the family. In an effort to
value your family time I will try to send homework that you will enjoy doing
with your child - something fun to reinforce a skill we are learning. I will
only do this occasionally, and not on a regular basis. However, the children
are expected to complete their work on a daily basis. If your child is having
trouble finishing, his/her work may be sent home to complete so that it is not
late. Any unfinished work or homework will be in your child's nightly folder.
--------------------------------------
How will I know what is going on in my child's class?
I send home a weekly news letter to let you know what is coming up. This
news letter will be in your child's weekly folder. You will need to sign this
folder so that I know you received it. I may
also send home letters with any unexpected or unusual happenings in their
nightly folder (this is were any homework will be as well). It is very
important for you to check your
child's folder each night - so that you get any
information that might be in there.
