Language Arts

Vocabulary lists for each week are posted under their own icon on the web page.  New lists are posted at the beginning of each week with the test being given the last day of the school week.
 
On Monday, November 2nd we will begin a new novel in class called Al Capone Does My Shirts.  It is a fictional story about a family that moves to Alcatraz Island in 1935.  The father works at Alcatraz as a guard.  Our vocabulary lists for the next 3 weeks will come from the novel. 
 
In addition, students will be doing an oral book report  this grading period on a novel of their own choice.  Some have chosen to work with a partner while others have chosen to work on their own.  The presentation will be in the form of a powerpoint.  They will have plenty of time to work on them in the computer lab during school.  If anyone feels they need extra,time, all they have to do is ask, and I will keep the lab open for them after school.
The due date will be decided this week by the class.  I will post it as soon as we decide; it will probably be in early December.
