What are your classroom rules and discipline policy?
I have a very simple policy in this regard: 1. Respect yourself - Come to school appropriately dressed - Come to class with a positive purpose 2. Respect your classmates - Stay out of each others personal space - Do not hinder another student's ability to learn 3. Respect your teacher - Do not interfere with your teacher's ability to teach ** If these respect-based guidelines are not followed, students will be subject to swift disciplinary action. Terms of disciplinary action will be based upon the severity of student misbehavior, to be determined upon referral**Back to Top
I assign homework based on what is accomplished each classroom session. Rest assured I AM NOT in the habit of assigning homework simply to assign homework! I will assign homework in a couple of distinct situations: 1. The day's material was not covered in it's entirety 2. Students show signs of needing extra practice with said material 3. A particular assignment, in my estimation, will enhance student understanding of said material ** It will not be uncommon for students in my class to go several days without having "homework". However, students will be required to keep and up- to-date Social Studies notebook(see Announcements for a detailed description and the list of terms and VIP's). If you want to track your students progress in my class simply ask them to produce their notebook and cross-check the terms and VIP's they currently have in their notebook with those listed on the Announcements page. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. Work that is turned in late will have the following consequences: 1 Day late = -25 points from total score 2 Days late = -50 points from total score 3 or more Days = 0 ** As a general rule I do not accept homework that is more than 2 days late. However, exceptions can be made in situations deemed neccessary. **Back to Top
