Greetings! Thank you for visiting my website. I am originally from
Blountville, Tennessee. I graduated from Emory and Henry College, and I
have been teaching middle schoolers for twenty years at Vance.
I live on a farm outside Bristol with my daughter Mackie,
six dogs (Jazzy, Jenny, Gus, Brownie, Panda and Jake), and a cat (Krogers).
In my spare time I enjoy reading, shopping, conversation with good friends,
and watching my daughter play basketball, and softball.
My primary mission is to increase literacy and sharpen the writing skills of
my students. I feel the most effective way to accomplish this mission is to
immerse students in the very best literature encourage them to assess and
think critically, engage them in discussion, and ultimately ask them to
convey what they have learned in writing. My students will improve their
editing skills and refine their writing styles. We will work extensively on
vocabulary. Basically, my mission for the students is that they become
excellent communicators.
