About The Teacher

I come from a family of teachers.  My husband, Jerry, teaches Graphic 
Arts at Tennessee High School and is the pastor at Gethsemane Baptist 
Church.  We have two daughters, Tracy and Kristie , who are 
both teachers.  Can you imagine what we talk about at Sunday dinner?  I am 
also a grandmother of five super intelligent, wonderful, and loving 
grandchildren who call me "Grandmommie."      

I have taught math for thirty one years from grades one to seven.  Math is 
my favorite subject and I want all my students to love it as much as I do.  
I have a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Virginia.  I 
attended Berea College, East Tennessee State University, and Virginia 
Intermont College.

I love teaching math, playing sports, watching my grandchildren play sports, 
eating chocolate, playing cards, and relaxing by taking long rides in the 
mountains.  Next to teaching, I enjoy taking pictures of everything and 
everybody. In my free time I read, study, and take classes in photography.   
It gives me great pleasure to give the pictures I have taken to the people I 
photograph.  If you are in my class, I assure you that I will give you at 
least one picture this year.

aspects of their lives and to have fun doing it.
