How are grades calculated?

Daily assignment=33%
Quiz Grades=33%
Test Grades=34%

Are there opportunities for extra credit?

Extra credit will be offered to all on equal basis.

How do you make up work?

Students need to check with me about makeups and when they are due.  A make 
up folder will be available for each class. A deadline will be announced 
before reporting periods.  A notebook will have the assigments written in it 
each day.  ***MAKEUP WORK CAN ONLY BE DONE IF ABSENT.

How can I help at home?

Check for assignments in the assignment book, check web page daily, and have 
another student's phone number for clarification on lessons.  Help go over 
skills for quizzes/test.

What supplies are needed?

A three-ringed binder with dividers for each subject,pencils and pens(black 
or blue), and color pencils(for map skills).  A spiral notebook for 
vocabulary. ***A notebook hole punch would be nice to have.

Dawson's Class Rules

MRS. DAWSON�S SOCIAL STUDIES
MATERIALS:
	Notebook, pencils( lead and color), pens, books, and assignment for 
that day.  

 CLASS PROCEDURES:
	Sharpen pencils, be in assigned seats, check the board for 
assignments and begin immediately.  If no assignment is posted, you may read 
until the roll is called.

EXPECTATIONS:
	 HOMEWORK:  Must be completed by the next class (unless stated 
otherwise or cleared with the teacher).
	MAKEUP WORK (ONLY IF ABSENT)  MUST BE  MADE UP ASAP.

DISCIPLINE:
SCHOOL RULES WILL BE INFORCED.
FIRST TIME �WARNING�.  
THE SECOND infraction by that student: he/she will be given     
TIME AFTER CLASS TO CONFER WITH THE TEACHER, this will be documented in a 
notebook.

THIRD TIME:  THAT STUDENT WILL HAVE TIME OUT TO WRITE ABOUT HIS/HER BEHAVIOR 
AND A PLAN.
FOURTH TIME:  DISCIPLINE REFERALS WILL BE MADE TO THE OFFICE.
****DISCIPLINE REFERALS WILL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY FOR EXTREME BEHAVIOR; SUCH 
AS FIGHTING, CURSING, THREATENING, ETC.
