About The Teacher

         I am very excited to start off my career here at Vance Middle School.
 I am a 2008 Graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.  Even though this is my
first official year teaching I have been employed through the University of
Kentucky as a Math Mentor in 2004.  Then throughout my 4 years in college I
worked for EKU as a Teacher's Assistant, Lab Assistant, and a Councilor in the
Tutoring Center.  During my last semester in college I had a wonderful
experience Student Teaching at Madison Southern High School in Berea, Kentucky.
    I recently move to the area from Kentucky when I got married and so far I
love everything about the Tri-Cities.  But I do miss my family who all live in
Richmond, Kentucky or further north.  But teaching will allow me to go visit
my little nieces and nephews often.
    I have to stay busy so this year I am going to be coaching both Girls 7th
Grade Basketball and Softball.  I just can't wait until the season starts!

Mission For The Class

My main goal for the Class is to break down the walls of intimidation when it
comes to math.  I know that for most this is the worst subject, but my room is
going to remain positive so that we can work together to master many skills in
math.  We will not be limited to Algebra only, because we get the chance to
work in the areas of Geometry and Probability as well.
