Announcements

February 8, 2010 Everyone should have Frankenstein study questions and the novel in
class every day.

February 3, 2010 Frankenstein study questions and
Powerpoint have been added to their respective categories. Be sure to
download a copy of the questions. Starting this Friday, the novel and study
questions should be brought to class daily, as well as the textbook on the
days when poetry projects are presented. Also, the Capstone paper checklist
has been added to the handouts. This will need to be printed up, too.

January 27, 2010 If school does not meet Friday due to inclement
weather, "A" classes will have two presentations on Tuesday-Robert Burns and
William Blake.

January 22, 2010 "B" Day classes: Your syllabus has an error in the
dates for next week. This is week five and it should read "January 28&28" not
February. There are no parent conferences next week. The assignments are the
same though. I apologize for the confusion.

All Classes: If you did not make up your "Intro" quiz, you have received a
zero. It is past time to make it up. Also, feel free to start reading
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.

January 20, 2010 I have posted the letter we received from the Capstone
Administrator for MCS in my handouts. Please read for more information.

January 14, 2010 Because the field trip will cause "A" Day classes to
miss my Wordsworth lecture on the two sonnets, "The World Is Too Much with Us"
and "Composed Upon Westminster Bridge," I have posted my notes for the lecture
in the handouts.

January 11, 2010 Handouts and PowerPoint pages have been
updated.

January 10, 2010 I'm not sure how Mr. Mansfield plans to work the
schedule tomorrow, but whoever meets will take the introduction to the
Romantic Period quiz and then have time to work on "The Rime of the Ancient
Mariner" study guide. I will give further adjustments to the syllabus when I
know more.

January 6, 2010 "A" classes received a copy of "The Rime of the Ancient
Mariner" study guide today in anticipation of snow. "B" classes will receive
it the next time the class meets.

January 3, 2010
1. The third quarter syllabus has been posted. Please be sure to download a
copy and place it in your
binder.
2. Also, review the course syllabus to refresh your memory about rules and
class procedures.
3. Groups have been assigned for the poetry project. There is a handout with
the groups posted online.
4. Next week there is an in-class essay assignment for the satire book you
read last quarter. Be sure to
bring your copy to class that day; otherwise, bring your textbook until I tell
you differently.
