May 8, 2012 Textbooks will be taken up in the Auditorium lobby tomorrow during English class May 2, 2012 Senior Exemption Forms are issued through First Period. Ask your teacher in that period for one. They are in teachers' email. April 30, 2012 The final exam review sheet has been posted on the handouts page. The exam will be in ACT format with passages from the time periods we have studied this semester and questions pertaining to those passages. The literary terms on the review sheet are all somewhere on the test either in the question or answer section. April 25, 2012 Because the wrong project was uploaded for the Yeats project for Fourth Period, the ladies have provided everyone with a link to watch it. I have uploaded it to the links page. April 24, 2012 The classroom needs tissue. Please bring some. April 15, 2012 After reading this, go to the links page and read the directions for uploading projects. April 13, 2012 Please remember to bring your submissions of creative writing, art, and photography for the Scribbler to school Monday. April 10, 2012 The calendar has been updated. Please note the time for graduation rehearsal as it has changed from previous years. April 9, 2012 According to the Administration, we will be in E200 all week. Further details will be added. April 5, 2012 The Senior Projects list has been moved to Google Docs, so it can be edited. Please access it through the links page from now on. Also, remember, we are supposed to meet in room M230 starting Monday. March 28, 2012 Short story presentations are taking longer than anticipated. Therefore, there will not be an essay test Friday. March 26, 2012 Senior Project Folder Due Dates: Wednesday, March 28th 1. Student(s) Planning Brief (pgs. 6-7) 2. Student(s) Presentation Brief (pgs. 8-9) 3. Project Milestones (p.11) This should be the first page, as it is your step-by-step plan for the project. Monday, April 2nd and 9th Student Weekly Planning Guide-one per student for each week Monday, April 16th Research Log There is more information posted below. Email if there are questions. March 22, 2012 Dylan Thomas lesson will be tomorrow. Test will be Monday. I have posted a link to define "What is a Villanelle?" for those who will be absent tomorrow. March 20, 2012 The syllabus and senior project handouts are posted, hooray! Please print a copy of each and bring it to class tomorrow. Sign-up for projects will obviously be tomorrow, not today. Also, there is a link at the bottom of the links page where you will access a copy of the sheets you will need for your project plan. Groups will need one copy of most sheets, but everyone will need his or her own copies of the "weekly planning sheet" (page 2). All handouts, except"weekly planning sheets" and the "research log" will be due before work starts on the projects. I will be using it to monitor students' progress for grading purposes. It is preferable that these be in a folder with your name (s),topic, and class period on the front. In your free time, peruse the short stories in the modern section of the textbook. Each student will be expected to complete and share a short story handout with the class. No two students in the same class should report on the same story unless I give permission to do so. "The Rocking Horse Winner" should not be used since it was taught in class by me. March 19, 2012 ***Update*** My morning classes will meet in the auditorium, so there will be no quiz. Please bring your Hard Times novel and use the time to study for the test. The Hard Times test will be moved to Wednesday, due to the ACT test. March 18, 2012 Bring your literature book to class tomorrow. Also, plan on a Hard Times test Tuesday. I am re-thinking my original syllabus, so I will post it later in the week.
