I am a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and this is my 11th year as a 6th grade Language Arts teacher. I love teaching although there are some days when I wonder what was I thinking when I decided to become a teacher!!!! :0) I enjoy getting to know my students and enjoy working with the fantastic staff at Central Middle. I became a teacher with the thought that I could make a difference in the lives of my students. Sometimes I feel like I am accomplishing this - sometimes I don't. I love to listen to music and I enjoy hanging out with my friends. For fun I like to run and have competed in a couple of 5K races. I also enjoy lifting weights and mountain biking. And, last but not least -- I love to read and I try to encourage all my kids to find something they enjoy reading. It's important for kids to know that reading can take them anywhere they want to go.
