This is my 3rd year at Central Middle School and I am very happy to be here
full time this year! I have been married to my husband, Bill for 9 years and
we have 2 children. Colton is 5 and is in Kindergarten this year at
Coalfield. Carlee is 4 and she attends PreK at Coalfield. We currently
live in the Coalfield community and I graduated from
Coalfield in 1989.
The Guidance Department works from a strength-based, proactive modality.
The program encourages and empowers' students' social, emotional, and
personal growth at each stage of their development. The purpose of
facilitating relationships amongst students, parents and teachers is to help
students maximize students' potential and students and families' overall
school experience. The middle school counselor conducts classroom workshops
around character education, provide guidance/life skills lessons; consults
with parents, teachers and other professionals; and coordinates student
services in the school. The guidance program provides students with
assistance in: Understanding self and developing a positive self-image,
development of respect for self, school, family and for feelings of others,
maintaining effective relationships with peers and adults, developing
effective study skills,and being prepared to make the transition to high
school.
