About The Nurse

Hello, I am Keisha Haley, the nurse for Watertown Elementary School. I
have been the school nurse here for several years now, and I would like to
tell you a little about myself.
I graduated from WHS in 1994. After graduation, I attended MTSU, where I
received my BSN in 1997. I have received the majority of my training from
Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, where I am still employeed. I work at
Vanderbilt in the infant/toddler acute care unit on the weekends. I have
also worked for Lebanon City Schools as a school nurse and for Dr. Andy
Jordan & Dr. Yvonne Pawlowski in Lebanon. My entire training has been
focused on children, and that is my true love in nursing. I have two
children, Emily and Ashley, and they both attend Watertown Elementary School.
I am involved in this community, and feel very blessed to work in such a
great area, as well. I enjoy my job and enjoy working around such wonderful
people each and every day. We have a great administration here at Watertown
Elementary and they are very supportive and encouraging to each of us. The
children truly are the focus of this school. I am very honored to be taking
care of your children and will do whatever I can to ensure your children are
healthy and well cared for in your absence.

Goals of the School Health Services Program

My goal for each school year is to educate the children about health and
hygiene and to care for children's medical needs during the school day. I
think it is very important for children to realize the importance of good
hygiene, after all, the most common source of illness comes from
contamination with bacteria or viruses. I teach several classes on hand
washing each school year and will continue to do so. I also teach on proper
nutrition, dental health, puberty, CPR, and anything else a teacher requests
educational materials on. I enjoy interacting with the students and
developing a rapport with them. I want the clinic to feel like a safe place
for the students and one where they can learn about health and wellness. I
welcome any suggestions or comments and I want parents to know that my door
is always open. I want WES students to be healthy so that they can receive
the education they need and deserve.
