Introduction

My name is Mrs. Odetta Ellington, Watertown High’s school counselor, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to Watertown High School’s Counseling Program.  I am a licensed professional counselor and it is my responsibility to collaborate with teachers, administrators, psychologists, parents, and students to address the best interest of our students.

The standards of our comprehensive school counseling program is mandated by the American School Counseling Association and adopted by the State of Tennessee.

Through classroom instruction, small group counseling, and/or individual counseling, it is my goal to encourage academic development, career development, and personal and social growth.  These lessons will not only help our students during their education, but help them throughout their lifetimes.

Visiting the counselor’s office does not necessarily confirm a problem.  The school counselor is a resource to students, parents, and the community.  Our number one focus is providing a safe learning environment for all the students at Watertown High School.

I am excited about this year, and I encourage parents, students, and the community to periodically visit the school counselor website for important information.
