For Oct.20-Nov.25 Eng III- In literature we will be reading Arthur Miller's The Crucible, a four-act play paralleling the Salem Witch Hunt with McCarthyism of the early 1950's. Honors Eng III--We will cover Transcendentalism ( Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau) and Anti-Transcendentalism (Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville). In writing, we will be taking notes for our research paper. I will be giving guidlines of the entire process and will be assisting students each step of the way. I will be sending home a syllabus of due dates. Summer reading should be completed as assignments for evaluation will be done during this time. Vocabulary workbook--we will continue to do one unit per week with the standardized test each Friday. Newspaper--We are busy gathering information for our next issue due out Nov. 13.
