| 1st Block Senior English
We will be working on Life Skills and getting ready for the work force. We
will also access a program to help us with decissions on Schooling that we
may be interested in and work places and requirements needed. This program
once accessed is our program for life and can be accessed at any time.
2nd Block is Jr. English. At the beginning we focus on the Writing
Assessment. We review the 5 paragraph essay format and practice writing with
different prompts and review papers that have been written from specific
topics.
3rd Block is Reading Class. This class will help us to become a better
reader. We will use a Reading Text, Rewards for Pronunciation
This year on occasion we are using watercolor paint and listening to
different types of music and painting our thoughts and feelings about the
music. The students seem to enjoy this and it gives them a break from the
everyday writing.
If a student does not complete an assignment in class, they are encouraged to
take home a book and complete the assignment. If they are absent and it is
excused they can do the same. If a student has a hard time writing on a
journal topic they can take it home and work on it. I give the students
every opportunity to be successful. If they are not then they gave up and
didn't try. Every student can be successful if they put forth their best
effort and pay attention in class and complete all work.
