How do I know how my child is doing in Science Class?

Each student will have a Science Portfolio (a folder) that will be given to
them by their teacher at the being of the year. Each student is expected to
keep track of all of their graded papers along with a running list of their
grades. The folder is to be left in the classroom, however, if a parent
would like to see it, the student is allowed to take it home. Also, the
folder will be sent home one time during the nine weeks.

How does my child do his/her make-up work?

Each day a child is absent, the homeroom teacher will have all of the
teachers that your child would have had that day will fill out a "Make-up
emo" for the child. We will write all of the student's make up work on the
paper. When the student return to school the work will be waiting for them
to pick up. The child then has 2 days to make up their work. If a child is
out for more than 2 days and the parent would like to pick up their child's
work, please call the office and request that we get the work together. We
can have the work ready by the end of the day with sufficient notice.

What does my child have for homework?

I (Miss Cunningham) rarely give homework except to study for a test. I
always give, at least, two days before the test and I ALWAYS give some sort
of a study guide. If a student doesn't complete their classwork (which
shouldn't happen, since I give them plenty of time) it is to be finished and
turned in the next day. All student should have written in their agenda
all classwork and homework for that day.
