Students are using homonyms to complete analogies (for example, creek and creak)

Students are reviewing the vowel sounds ai ay au er ir ur ar silent e oi oy oi oa ou ee ow oo for pronunciation and spelling. We are also studying base words, prefixes, and suffixes. The Lesson 8 Spelling Quizzes will be Monday and Tuesday this week.

Students are reading several texts with the theme of "going to extremes" and are finding clue words that show comparison and contrast throughout each one.

Students will read independently each class period in order to increase their decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills.
