Students are using antonyms to complete analogies (for example, hot:cold::day:night)

Students are reviewing the vowel sounds ai ay au er ir ur ar silent e oi oy oi oa ou ee ow for pronunciation and spelling. We are also studying base words and prefixes.

Students are reading several texts about "surviving against the odds" and are finding main ideas and details throughout each one. We will have the unit test this week, then move on to the skill of compare/contrast.

Students will read independently each class period in order to increase their decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills.
