If you did not get p 46 turned in today, be sure it is in the tray before homeroom on Tuesday. Ch 11 introduction, 178-179. Section 1, 179-185--read and do the 7 vocabulary works. We have ALOT to do before TCAPS in April. Stay on task and study. March 26/27, A/B Days Sec. 1 179-185 discussion, graphic organizers, and identify. Study the class notes and organizers for quiz 11-1 Friday. Complete assessment questions 2 and 3. I will be giving information about your next project on Friday. Remember the signed portfolios. March 28, Stack Day. Each class took the 11-1 quiz, and reviewed the geographic terms worksheet students have had since last August.(State benchmarks expect 6th grades to know, understand, and be able to identify these words.) Each student was given the guide for the World Religions Book project due April 9. No homework was assigned for the weekend so use the time for your project. March 31, A-Day April 1, B-Day Section 2 185-190 Read and do 10 Voc. Make 3 graphic organizers, one for Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, and give 8 details for each. Write your own Syllogism. Know the Scientific Method. Complete assessment questions 2 and 4, study for 11-2 quiz, and redo map p 46 if it was returned to you. Continue to work on your project. Many of you must get busy with Study Island!!!!! April 2-3, A/B Days Took quiz 11-2 then added 4 grades to portfolio. Completed a review skill on Greek Contributions to the modern world. With a clock partner, you did the Ch 11 study guide for the Friday test. We went over this at the end of class. HomeWork Complete workbook pp47-48 for review and study for the Ch 11 test on Friday. This is a stack day so ALL classes will meet. Work on your World Religions Book. It is due Wednesday, April 9. This is you second weekend for the project. April 7/8, A/B Day We discussed time words as related to history and your information search sheet you received on Friday. We are doing test practice and other related items as we ready for TCAPS next week. Your world religion book is due Wed. Put it in the basket labeled for your class. Review the notes from class and the geographic vocabulary list we have had all year for TCAPS April 9-10, A/B Days World religion project books were due today. I'm anxious to see the good quality work. In class we continued working through the Information Search sheet, practice tests and other state benchmark items. We did a timeline putting historical periods in order. Review you vocabulary, the information sheet and mapping skills. April 11 Stack Day. We continued TCAP practice and discussed 4 types of government: Monarchy, Oligarchy, Theocracy, and Republic Study Island work needs to be done. TCAPs are Monday-Thursday next week. Get plenty of rest and have a good breakfast. April 21/22 TCAPS are finished and our good behavior trip is over. Life returns to normal. Ch 14 introduction, 218-219 Section 1 219-220 read and completed in class; assessment queston #4 organizer needs to be reviewed--be sure you did a through job. Section 2 221-222 was began in class and was to be finished as homework. Quiz 14-1,14-2 will be on Wed./Thurs. We added 3 pages to our portfolio. World religion books will be returned Wed./Thurs. Be prepared for class with supplies and work. April 23/24 In class, we wrapped up Sec. 2,221-222. Then, we took Quiz 14-1,14-2. We did section 3,pp 222-224 in class. You only have assessment questions 1 and 3 to finish. Homework Sec. 4,224-226--read and do assessment Study of Quiz 14-3,14-4 on Friday. April 25, stack day We discussed and checked sec. 4,224-226 and took quiz 14-3,14-4 Homework is p231, Understanding Main Ideas, questions 1-5. Mid-terms will come home next week. April 28/29, A/B Day Added to portfolio (10 grades) and sent them home for parent signature. Please return them promply. Covered sec. 5 227-230 in class. Students have notes on voc., the reformers and the generals of the Roman Empire. Study these and complete assessment questions 2 and 3. Do the study guide for Ch 14 test on Friday. On Wed./Thurs. quiz 14-5 and a quiz on the government graphic organizer from sec. 1 will be taken. Friday May 2, Stack Day We checked workbook pp61-62 as review for our test. Ch 14 test was taken Workbook p64 on map skills was assigned and turned in. If you did not get this finished in class, it was homework. Bring on Monday and put it in you class tray. May 7/8 A/B Day Discussed sec. 2 369-373 then completed assessment in class Checked questions 2 & 3 from sec.1 Quiz 24-1,24-2 Added 3 grades to portfolio Discussed Coat of Arms project. Printed information and rubric will be sent home Friday. Project will be due Monday, May 19. Students will have heard the needed information in class so they can start their creative ideas. Read, discussed, and did assessment for section 4, 375-378. Reviewed sec. 3 guide Quiz 24-3,24-4 Homework Complete ch 24 study guide for Chapter test on Friday. Project is due 5/19 but if completed go ahead and turn it in. May14/15, A/B Day Study guide was checked and opportunity was given to redo map p 64. Workbook pages 107-109 were assigned. Ch 24 test on Friday. Bring in your Coat of Arms, paragraphs, and rubric. Be sure to read the announcement about report card day. Monday 5/19. All coat of arms projects were due today. In class, we checked part of our exam study guide, added to our portfolios and play mindjoggers. Be sure to get portfolio signed. Parents, there are 19 grades. Be sure all of exam study guide is finished. A Day exam is Friday. May 22, B Day Everyone has had a chance to check exam study guide and should have correct answers. Signed portfolios have been collected and bonus points recorded. Text books have been collected with 5 still out. Parents your student will be notified if he/she has a charge for a lost or damaged book. The charges must be paid before report cards can be given. A-Day exam on Friday. B-Day exam on Tuesday. Be prepared!!!
