Outside Reading
Every nine weeks students are required to read one book every three weeks.
They are required then to either take a test on the computer or write a book
report on that book following my specifications. They are graded on either
option and that grade is a test grade. If they choose to do a book report
they are to get a sheet from me that tells them exactly how I want the book
report completed.
They have deadlines for their tests to be taken or their book reports
given to me. These are on the board all nine weeks. These deadlines cannot
be missed or made up. If they miss the deadline it is an automatic zero for
a test grade. They were told this at the beginning of the year and are
constantly reminded of this too. If they take more that one test before the
deadline I take the highest grade. They can take as many tests as they want
in a nine weeks. However, at the beginning of a new nine weeks they start
over and have to read three new books.

These are the deadlines for the third nine weeks.
1st reading check due - Tuesday, November 3rd.
2nd reading check due - Wednesday, November 25th.
3rd reading check due - Tuesday, December 15th.
