| Welcome to a new and exciting school year!
Things you need to know:
School fees are 20.00 and lock rental is 5.00. The locks are combination
locks and are provided by the school. If it becomes obvious that a
combination lock is not a good option, I will let you know and ask you to
buy a key lock with two keys.
School hours are 8:15 to 3:15. Children must be signed in and out through
the office.
No breakfast is served in the cafeteria.
Dress code applies to all CD students. Previous dress code waivers still
apply.
It is very important that your child does not bring toys, stereos,
electronic games, etc., to school unless they have been given specific
permission. That permission will be written in the agenda or a reward pass.
The term "age appropriate" is a term you will hear a lot from me. We want
to treat our students like normal 11-12 year olds so they will learn to
behave as normal 11 - 12 year olds. It is very important that you do not
encourage your child to participate in activities designed for much younger
children.
We use a reward system where they earn "money" for good behavior and pay
fines for inappropriate actions. On Fridays, they will be allowed to buy
game passes, free time passes, listen to music passes, and other similar
rewards.
