About The Teacher

This will be my 9th year to teach in the Weakley County School System and my
5th year to teach at Westview High School. I graduated from UTM receiveing
a degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance, then attended Murray
State University where I received a Master's Degree in Economics with a
concentration in Finance. While at Murray State I was a research assistant
for Dr. Louis Cheng. Dr. Cheng and I published two papers in prominent
economic journals. My second year at Murray State I became a graduate
teaching assistant and taught Introduction to Economics. After completing
my degree I taught part-time at UTM and Dyersburg State. In 2000 I went
back to school to pursue a degree in Education. I have endorsements in
Economics, Government/Political Science, Geography, U.S. & World
History, Personal Finance, Middle School Social Studies (5-9) and Middle
School Content Knowledge. I began my teaching career at Martin Middle School
in 2001 where I taught American History and Geography. While at Martin Middle
I was the Head Coach of the Panther Soccer Team. I also served as the
Assistant Basketball coach for the boys team and Chairman of SACS Committee
(Part 3).

I am a teacher whose door is always open to my students and parents should
there ever be a concern about a students progress in my class.

I hope that your student enjoys learning about how our economy and
government works and how it relates to their everyday life.

Mission For The Class

For my students to begin thinking for themselves and not always accepting
the given. To begin developing opinions about the world around them and how
to correctly convey those opinions. To continue developing their critical
thinking skills as they study Economics and U.S. Government.
