Rules

Mrs. Bolus 2007 - 2008

 

1.                   Enter the classroom in an orderly manner.  Be prepared to work when the bell rings.

 

2.                   Bring your supplies to class everyday. 

            [agenda, text, notebook, assignments, pencils, paper, positive attitude, etc.] 

 

3.                   Water in capped containers is permitted. I will allow chewing gum, unless you abuse this privilege.  You may not, however, chew gum or have water as a drink during a lab.

            Dispose of food, candy, and other drinks before entering this class.

 

4.                   Be courteous and respectful.

 

5.                   Take care of classroom equipment and materials; return used items to their proper place.

 

Consequences

 

Classroom rules are established so that we can have a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.  Every student has the right to learn, and I have the right to teach.  Failure to abide by the class rules will result in the following:

 

1st Consequence:                      Verbal Warning

2nd Consequence:                     Write-off

3rd Consequence:                      Write-off

4th Consequence:                      Telephone conference with parent, complete Action Plan; Action Plan must be signed by parent and returned to me next school day, and write-off.           

5th Consequence:                      Discipline referral to principal

Severe Disruption:                   Sent Directly to Principal

 

***Any serious offense—defiance, fighting, theft, inappropriate language or gestures, abuse of equipment or violation of lab rules, threats directed toward the teacher or fellow students, disrespect toward the teacher, etc—will result in an immediate referral to a principal.

 

Tardies to class are subject to the following consequences:

1st Tardy:                     Write-off

2nd Tardy:                    Write-off

3rd Tardy:                     Write-off, Telephone conference with parent

4th & subsequent Tardies:              Principal referral

 

·         A “Write-Off” means that you will be temporarily removed from the class in order to complete the write-off.

·         Be prepared.  If you bring food, drink, or candy to class, you will be asked to throw it away and receive the consequence.

·         I will provide you with a copy of the Action Plan.  It must be completed by you, reviewed with your parents, signed and returned to me the next school day.

·         I will keep a permanent record as a discipline log.
