Computer Use Policy

Wilson County Schools has access to computers, networks, and the Internet. A small minority has made objectionable materials available over the Internet. Wilson County Schools will take every precaution to restrict access to this information. We believe that the valuable information available on the Internet far outweighs the possibility that users may obtain unsuitable material. Disciplinary action will be taken against users found sending or acquiring objectionable material over the Internet or developing objectionable material on school equipment.

 

Please remember the following:

All school policies listed in the Wilson Central Student Handbook must be enforced according to administration. If you do not have a copy of the student handbook, please let me know and I will provide one for you. You may also check the Wilson County Web site.

 

  1. Students will respect each other’s diversities, and allow for other students’ space. NO DISREPECT OF ANY KIND TOWARDS A PEER OR ME WILL BE TOLERATED.
  2. NO TOUCHING!!!
  3. No food or drinks allowed at any time.  Do not ask to go to the vending machines.
  4. No cell phones, No jump drives, No uploading music.
  5. No downloading/uploading games or playing any games. Desktop games only.
  6. Do not ask to go to vending machines.
  7. Students have 3 passes per semester for emergency use only.
  8. You must sign on computer under your first and last name.  If you do not, you will receive a zero for the day.  Let me know immediately if there is a problem with your account or computer.
  9. Students are responsible for their books and stations.  If there is a problem, you must let me know immediately.
  10. Students must be prepared for class at all times.  Students must be on time.  If there is a problem, please inform me of the situation.
  11. There will be no walking, talking, typing, or computer activity during lectures, instructions, and work times.
  12. There will be no sleeping, note passing, or note writing during class.
  13. Stay seated until the bell rings.
  14. You must be quiet during announcements, moment of silence, pledge, and national anthem.
  15. No unauthorized Internet activity will be allowed. (This includes E-MAIL, INSTANT MESSAGING, USE OF PROXY SERVERS, etc.)
    1. First time – verbal warning
    2. Second time – verbal warning
    3. Third time – Internet privileges revoked for the duration of the grading period.
  1. If disciplinary action must take place in my class, the following will occur:
    1. First time – verbal warning
    2. Second time – verbal warning AND A 5 PAGE WRITE OFF.
    3. Third time – separation from class AND A 7 PAGE WRITE OFF.
    4. Fourth time – sent to office and a zero will be given for the day.

Parents please sign this contract and have your child return it to me.  By signing this contract, you understand that your child will be utilizing the Internet for school purposes.  IF I DO NOT RECEIVE THIS CONTRACT BACK, YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET ON THE COMPUTER IN MY LAB.
