A student's grade in Mr. Rice's Art 1 class is based upon the following:
Participation - Remaining "on-task" in the class at all times. Each student
automatically receives 10 points for participation each day. When a student
is observed being "off-task", he/she will lose 10 points for each time that
they are observed being "off task". Participation is 30% of the student's
grade.
Projects - Each class will be assigned 8-10, or more activities per grading
period, which are classified as "Projects", rather than daily assignments, as
they require more effort,skill, and perserverance than daily assignments.
Projects are 30% of a student's grade.
Daily - Every day, students are assigned activities to be completed as "Daily
Work". They are expected to complete all of these activities prior to the
assigned deadline. Daily assignments count as 20% of a student's grade.
Tests/Quizes - Students are assigned 3-4 tests/quizes per grading period.
typically, students will be given a weeek's notice period to a test/quiz.
Most of the test/quizes consist of vocabulary words and questions from the
text on specific chapters. Test/quizes count 20% of a student's grade.
