HOSA Club

HEALTH OCCUPATIONS STUDENTS OF AMERICA (HOSA)

The hottest organization in town is gearing up to accept new members. If you
want to be admitted to the club that is all the rage this season, watch and
listen for an announcement for our first membership meeting coming soon...

Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime event! We look forward to seeing
you there!

What? Want to know about HOSA now? Sure thing, hope the following helps!

HOSA is a national student organization for all students interested in a
career in health science (medicine). Taking or have already taken a health
science course is no longer a prerequisite for being a member of HOSA. HOSA
lessons/competitions remain an important part of the Health Science
curriculum.

The mission statement of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate,
quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and
leadership development of all health occupations education students,
therefore, helping the students to meet the needs of the health care
community. There are forty competitive events offered at the local, regional,
state, and/or national level(s). There are several scholarships available
for HOSA members to apply.

Those HOSA members eligible are also encouraged to join Wilson Central's
National Technical Honor Society. Within this organization they may apply
for even more scholarships.

This term HOSA will be meeting a minimum of twice each month. One meeting
will be at 7:45 a.m. in my room, Room N201, while the other will be at 3:20
p.m. in Mrs. Lawrence's room, Room W201. We hope this fits everyone's
schedule. Future dates will be announced at each meeting. Dues for HOSA are
$15.00, covering state and national. There are no local/regional
dues.

Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Vaught, and I are all excited about this club and its
members. We want it to be the BEST HOSA Club in Wilson County! We need YOU to
help us inform the rest of the county what we already know. So... put on your
medical caps and/or lab coats. Let's get to work!
