Description:  Lifetime Wellness is required by the State of TN for all students to graduate.  The course promotes a healthy, active lifestyle.  The curriculum includes:  disease prevention, nutrition, personal fitness, safety and first aid, sexuality and family life, substance use and abuse, and mental, emotional and social health.  The course will include time spent in the classroom and the gym.  At the end of the semester students will be given a final exam that will count 20% of their final average.

Grading Policy:

Classroom grades and P.E. grades will be taken each nine week grading period. 

 

Materials needed:

◦ WhiteT-shirt                                                               ◦ Tennis shoes

◦ Blue or Black shorts (appropriate length)                                   ◦ Folder or 3 ring notebook                       

◦ Lock – WC will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

 

WELLNESS RULES / EXPECTATIONS

 

1.  Be on time.  (The tardy policy will be enforced.)

2.  Complete all assignments on time.  (Partial credit will be given for late assignments.)

3.  No food or drink is allowed in the gyms, locker rooms or weight room.

4.  It is expected that you dress out and participate every day during the physical

     education part of the class. 

 

      Written note from a doctor must accompany the student the same day the student is

      not dressed out because of medical/physical problems.  Students not able to

 participate will be given an alternative assignment.

 

A student who does not dress out and or participate will receive a reduction of points and an alternative assignment. 

 

5.  School policies addressed in the code of conduct booklet will be enforced.
