About The Teacher

Mrs. Randi Staggs graduated from Hume-Fogg High School in Nashville. She
then attended Belmont University where she received a Bachelors degree in
Business Administration. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank as a
financial analyst for four years and obtained her Masters degree in Business
Administration from MTSU before deciding to quit the business world to
become a teacher. She taught in Davidson County for a semester and
Williamson County for three and a half years before moving to Wilson Central
High School in its inaugural year to teach English and coach the varsity
cheerleading squad. In her 7 years of teaching at WCHS, Mrs. Staggs taught
every grade level of English, but found her favorites in her 11th and 12th
grade classes, which she taught exclusively for 6 out of those 7 years. In
August 2003, Mrs. Staggs completed her Masters of Arts in Teaching
(MAT) with a specialty in English from Belmont University. In August 2007,
Mrs. Staggs received her Educational Specialist degree (EdS) in Educational
Leadership from Tennessee Technological University. Then, in 2008 she made
the difficult decision to leave Wilson Central and try something new - 7th
graders! She is extremely excited about teaching reading and producing the
yearbook and newspaper at Southside.
Mrs. Staggs has been married for fifteen years to Corey Staggs, who is a
biology teacher and soccer coach at Antioch High School. The Staggs are
proud parents of Emily Claire, born on April 10, 2001, Connor Michael,
born Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004, and Jackson Ray, born on June 8, 2008.
The Staggs family has lived in Wilson County for 12 years, first in Mt.
Juliet and currently in Lebanon. In her "free time", Mrs. Staggs enjoys
reading, traveling, shopping, making jewelry, scrapbooking, jogging and
playing with her kids.

Mission For The Class
