Ms. Vaughn is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a degree
in Education and minors in Theatre and Dance. While at MTSU, she was a
member of the MT Lightning Dance Team and was named captain for 3 years of
her 4 years. She was then promoted to being the head coach and assisted in
taking the team in becoming a nationally ranked collegiate dance team.
LaTonya has over 20 years of formal dance training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip
Hop, Pom, Kick, and other various styles of dance. She was a Head Instructor
for Universal Dance Association for 5 years and also has also taught at
several local dance studios and worked with numerous high school dance
teams. Ms. Vaughn was the Head Coach of the Wilson Central Wildcat
Dancers for 4 years, but has recently moved to being the sponsor. She has
been teaching at Central for four years and is also a
former NFL Tennessee Titans Cheerleader and AFL
Nashville Kats Dancer.
Dance Classes at Wilson Central provide students with the opportunity to
learn and master the art of dance. By integrating dance into the curriculum,
we hope to give each student a renewed sense of dedication, ambition,
character, and a chance to express themselves. This renewed sense of self
will give each child the confidence to master all of their academic dreams.
