Dear Parent/Guardian and Student:
I wanted to introduce myself and welcome you to a new year at Woodstock. I am excited to be back
in the area that I grew up in. I will be teaching your student US History on team 8A. In my class, we
will discuss the US from the beginning of time to the time of the Civil War. We will prepare for the
TCAP test and will surpass the scores of last year’s 8th grade class.
In my class, we will do most of our work during the school day. However, there are some things that
I will assign to be done at home. My homework will be assigned on Mondays and an occasional
Wednesday. I will also require that a Current Event article be turned in the first Friday of each month.
I will assign one US History project per 9 weeks. My grade distributions will be:
Bellwork: 5%
Homework: 10%
Classwork: 15%
Quizes: 20%
Tests: 25%
Projects: 25%
