Assignment:

On pages 56-57 in your geography books, there are 12 climate zones listed.  You are to select 1 climate zone from each of the 5 main groups:

·         Tropical

·         Dry

·         Temperate

·         Polar

·         Highland

 

For each of the 5 climates you pick, answer the following:

1). Name of the climate

2). Where the climate is found

3). How the climate would affect you if you lived there

 

For one of the climates, pick a city in that climate zone (You can use the atlas to find a city; and it CANNOT be in North America!)  You will need to draw a climate graph for that city (an example of a climate graph is found on page 59 for Nice, France (you can’t do Nice, France, either!)).

 

Once you select the city, you can go to the Weather Channel’s web page (www.weather.com), and type in the city in the search box at the top.  Once you get your city, look towards the bottom of the page for the “36 Hour Forcast.”  Click the tab labeled “Averages.”  This will give you a climate graph of your city. 

 

On the front of a piece of paper, answer #1-3 for each of the 5 climates, and draw the climate graph on the back.

 

Turn it in when you finish.  This is due before you leave today.
