About The Teacher

I have 38 years of teaching experience with the past ten years here at Alamo
Heights teaching physics. I have a BS degree from UT-Austin (1971) and an MS
degree from UTSA (1979).

I have participated in several summer institutes post-graduate courses at the
National Particle Accelerator Laboratory "FermiLab" (1994); Texas A & M
University (1995-1997); Modeling Instruction in Physics Leadership Training at
the University of Maryland (1997 - 1998); The National Radio Astronomy
Observatory (1999); Research-Action Development Project in Physics at Arizona
State University (2000 - 2001); and the Center for High Energy Particle
Research and Educational Outreach (CHEPREO) at Florida International
University (2002- 2006). Most recently I have been participating in the
Advanced Technology Education (ATE) Program for Physics Faculty, a series of
training workshops located at various college sites around the country and
sponsored by the American Association of Physics Teachers and the National
Science Foundation.

I am an active member of the American Association of Physics Teachers and have
presented workshops and papers at both state and national meetings.

In 2007, I was awarded the Excellence in Physics Teaching Award for
Pre-College Teachers by the Texas Section of AAPT.
