COMPLETE IN YOUR
SPELLING SPIRAL AND TURN IN:
1. Write the words in ABC
order (2 times in print and 2 times in cursive)
2. Write the words in
reverse (backwards, Z to A) ABC order. (2 times in print and 2 times in
cursive)
3. Write the words three
times each. (first semester IN PRINT; second semester IN CURSIVE)
4. Print each word three
times. Use pencil to print the consonants and another color to print the
vowels.
5. Print each word three
times in giant and elf letters. Print all vowels small and all consonants
large.
6. RAINBOW print your
words. Print each word three times in COLOR. Use different color pencils or
markers.
7. Print each word three
times and circle all the vowels.
8. Print each word three
times. Use a crayon, marker, or colored pencil to outline or "frame" each
word.
9. Print each word three
times. Find and write the value of each word. (vowels=2 points, consonants = 1
point)
10. Print each word. Cut
the letters apart for one word and mix them up. Spell the word with the
letters. Repeat for each word. Glue the letters onto paper the last time you
spell them.
11. Write a sentence for
each word. Underline each spelling word. You should have a sentence for EACH
WORD.
12. Print each word. Then
draw a picture for each word. The picture must help you understand what the
word means.
13. Using a dictionary,
write a definition for each word.
14. Choose eight or more
words. Write a story using the words OR write a letter to a friend or someone
in your family using the words. Underline each spelling word.
15. Complete the
independent practice assignment in your textbook.
COMPLETE THE
ACTIVITIES BELOW AT HOME WITH A PARENT AND BRING A SIGNED AND DATED NOTE FROM
YOUR PARENT TELLING WHICH ACTIVITY YOU DID.
16. Have someone call out
the words and take a practice spelling test. have someone check it. Print each
word that you missed two times.
17. Spell, cheer or sing
to spell each word aloud to a parent. Spell each word at least 3 times.
18. SNAP and CLAP your
words as you spell them out loud to a parent. Remember to CLAP the consonants
and SNAP the vowels.
19. Use alphabet cereal,
pasta letters, or magnetic letters to spell each word.
20. Put sand, cornmeal or
rice in a flat container. Print each word 3 times with your finger.
21. "ASK YOUR
PARENTS FIRST" ACTIVITY! On a table, a piece of wax paper,
plastic wrap, or a plate, print your words in shaving cream, pudding, whipped
cream, or peanut butter. REMEMBER TO CLEAN UP YOUR MATERIALS!
