If I join the PTA, will someone call me and ask me to volunteer?

The VIPs chairman will only call parents that have indicated on a form or 
sign up sheet that they are willing to volunteer.

What does the PTA do?

The PTA provides support for the school administration, teachers, staff and 
students. They not only help with various volunteer activities such as 
copying and 
manning the welcome desk, they raise money to purchase large items for the 
school.  For example, last year the PTA purchased the green benches are in 
the front of the school.  They also funded several teacher requests such as 
electronic equipment for the performing arts department.
