THINKING SKILLS EXERCISES
Students are doing an awesome job as they work on problem solving in Mind Benders Level 3. These thinking exercises are designed to sharpen students' deductive thinking by encouraging them to comprehend and organize sets of clues to reach logical conclusions. Skills developed and utilized in these problems improve students' reading comprehension, math, writing, science, and test-taking abilities. Unit of Study School Census Bureau You are a data collector for the school census bureau. Your class will design and send a "Census Bureau Questionnaire" to teachers in other classrooms to collect data about the students in each room. Then you will make wall graphs to show your findings. Choose ten facts about this town that you think would be important and interesting to display. 3. This town will continue to grow and expand. Make predictions of how it will be like 1,000 years from now. 4. Make a 3-D model of this town as you predicted. Pay close attention to proportions. 5. Your model must be sturdy and all the pieces must be secured so it can be held upside down. This will be displayed sideways (vertically) on the wall. 6. Check rubric for this project. |
