Dear Parents-
Please remember that all unfinished
work is considered homework. Some students are having a hard time remembering
once they are home to check their binder for this work. We have a new school
wide late work policy which reduces the grade by 10 points each day it is
late, but after 4 days (and any day after that) the highest grade they may
receive is a 50. This can drop your childs average by a letter grade, or if
they end up with too many late papers, it can put them in danger of failing.
Each day the students fill out
their assignments in their planner. If an assignment is not finished
throughout the day, the students will now highlight the work in their planner.
Hopefully this will serve as a better form of communication with you on which
assignments are "homework". I know that you all have busy lives, but I am
asking that you please take a moment to look over the planner daily and sign
it. I know the kids love to tell you that they don't have homework, and they
say it with such convincing faces, but that is not always the case. By signing
this, it lets me know that we are all on the same page about your child's
academic success. Thank you for all of your hard work.
