I have a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from East Texas State University
and a Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas Wesleyan
University.
I have been teaching in the public school system for 10 years.
I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades.
I have also taught 14 semesters at Navarro College in the early
childhood/child development department.
I was named Teacher of the Year for my campus while teaching at Sam Houston
Elementary in Corsicana in the Spring of 1996.
In May of 2007 I was named as a Teacher of the Year for the
Region 12 Science Collaborative
In November 2007, I presented a workshop session for other science teachers
from across the state at CAST. It was called CSI: Create Your Own Crime
Scenes.
In January 2008, Mrs. Baldree and I presented a workshop session in Austin
to school adminstrators showing strategies we have used to incerease the 5th
grade science TAKS scores to 91%.
Mrs. Baldree and I also were selected to present a session at NASA (Feb
2008) to fellow educators from around the WORLD! Our session was called
Rocket Madness and we showed how to build and launch 3 different types of
rockets.
Rockets at NASA was such a blast that Mrs. Baldree, Mrs. Fisher and I
presented the same material at the 2008 CAST conference in November 2008.
I was recently notified that Mrs. Baldree and I had beed selected to teach
another session at NASA in Feb 2009. Our session is called Bubble Trouble!
