Tutorials:

The classroom will be open at 7:45am. This is when you should come by to finish assignments, make-up work, or get extra help.

Make-up Work:

When you miss class, for ANY reason, it is your responsibility to make up any missed work. You have three days to ask for the work and no more than two weeks to finish it.

D-Halls:

Depending on the severity of an offense you may be issued a d-hall either during tutorials or after school. You must be ON TIME and stay the entire time.

Tardies:

When tardy bring a pass from the person who detained you. If you don’t have a pass, sign the clipboard by the door (filling in all information), you will be issued a d-hall.

Leaving Class:

When needing to leave the class for ANY reason, first, ask permission and use the blue hall pass. Please fill out the hall pass entirely and take the pass with you to your destination.

®  When possible have someone “official” INITIAL your pass before returning to class.

®  i.e. the nurse, the librarian, the AP, the attendance clerk, etc.

Logging into computers:

You will always use your student login to use the computers.

Generally your login will be the first two letters of your first name and your last name, and the last 4 digits of your SS# as your password. If there is more than one student with the same first two letters and last name then you will have a number at the end of your login, ask me for help.

EXAMPLE:

Juliana Meraz

User name:     jumeraz

Password:       1344

Internet Access:

When you have finished your work in my class you may ask permission to get on the internet. You will need to tell me what sites you plan on visiting and why. Under no circumstances are you allowed to bypass the school district’s web filter to access blocked sites.Bypassing the district’s filter will result in an automatic office referral and you will loose your computer privileges.

GAMES:

We don’t play computer games in this class; if you have time to play a computer game then you have time to improve on your assignments for my class. Extra time in class could be spent doing work for other classes, doing research, or assisting students who are having difficulties with an assignment.

Saving Files:

With your unique login you will be able to save to your “z:” drive and access assignments from any computer in the district. You will need to organize your files in your “z” drive so that you can keep track of work.

Videos are the only files that are NOT allowed to be saved to Z: drives.

Please do NOT save unnecessary files to your Z: drives.

Backing Up Work:

It’s a good idea to back up your work to a flash drive, especially long, tedious projects. This will save you much heartache in the long run. See me for assistance if you need it.

Working Outside of the Classroom:

All assignments need to be completed in class under my supervision; if you fall behind on an assignment and have the appropriate software at home you might be able to receive special permission to complete assignments at home.

A Word About Equipment:

We cannot replace this equipment; it is your job to see that you help in maintaining the equipment in this classroom. We are fortunate to have better quality workstations than most campus classrooms, so we need to take care of them. Please report any equipment abuse and please do your part to care for the machines.

Music:

It is a technology dept. rule that students are not allowed to listen to music while working on assignments in the classroom. Please adhere to this rule. You may only listen to music in class when using it in a project.
