from the HLSR Art Show. The visitors voted for their favorites during the

The Visual Art Scholastic Event, regional VASE, an U. I. L. equivalent, took
place in Houston February 23rd and the State VASE April 12th.
Congratulations to the following Brazoswood High students under the
direction of Connie Middleton for advancing to the State Event. Students
from throughout the state are selected for Gold Seal Awards at the State
VASE and considered to be the best of the best in Texas.

The Judging for the HLSR Art Show took place January 11th and fifteen
artworks were taken to Houston by the judges to be displayed at the Houston
Livestock Show and Rodeo in March. Eleven pieces will be re-judged for the
HLSR Art Auction. Visit the top winner pages to view their artwork. Be

Also, connected with the HLSR, two students, so far, have been selected to
enter a Quick Draw Contest at the Show. For more information,

Congratulations to Esmeralda Heredia! Esmeralda placed in the top 20 in the
Region 4 Christmas Card Contest. Esmeralda is an eighth grader at Freeport
Intermediate and a student of Robert Ruhmann.
