Your child has an individual spelling list of five words each week that 
are pulled directly from their writing.  Your child misspelled these words 
only by a few letters in their own writing.  The student will have one week 
to study these words, and then I will administer their test.  The test will 
be immediately scored and the next spelling list will be handed to them.  If 
a student misses a word on the test, it is carried over to the next test.  If 
during the course of the year, your child misses a word in their writing that 
was previously one of their spelling words, it will also be added back to the 
list.  This provides that accountability that creates an authentic learning 
experience.

Due to the individual differentiation of this new program, spelling tests 
cannot all be given on Friday.  Each child will be given one day during the 
week that will be their spelling test day.  They will take their test, as 
well as receive the next list on that day.
