ScienceEarth's Forces: Graphic Chart for Earth's forces and examplesWeathering Lab: Students use wood files to chip away outer surface of pencil and blow through a straw to experience wind weathering on Earth's surface. Splat - Students drop water into flour and observe the flour splatter as rain causes weathering. Changes to Earth's Surfaces: Ice Lab - students create a rock out of plaster-a-paris with a water balloon inside, let it dry and freeze it to experience water expansion on the earth's surface to create weathering. Crack-up - students observe straws filled with water, concealed on both ends with clay, and frozen to observe the effects of water expansion. Changes to Earth's Surface: Students observe mineral block dissolving due to running water. Also, students observe a bar of soap which has had running water weathering it.Changes to Earth's Surface: Students observe chalk being dissolved in vinegar to observe chemical weathering.
