What do I do if I need to change my child's transportation home?
Call the office (428-3000) and the office will let me know. It's very
important to let us know so that we can keep your child safe!
What time is lunch?
Our lunch is 10:35-11:05.
What's the difference between back walkers and front walkers?
A back walker walks home from the back of the school. A Kindergarten
teacher will take them to the black top to meet with siblings/parents. A
front walker walks home from the front of the school. A Kindergarten
teacher will take them to the side door (by the computer lab) to wait for
siblings/parents.
Where should my child meet older siblings after school?
Your child will meet his/her older siblings at his designated dismissal spot
(car riders-covered area, back walker-black top, front walker-side door by
the computer lab, bus-on the bus, day care-front porch, YMCA-cafeteria.
Will there be a rest time?
Yes. Students will lay quietly listening to music and reading books. They
will need a towel which can be stored easily. The towels are sent home on
Fridays to be washed. Due to limited storage, please do not send rest mats.
Can students buy a cafeteria lunch?
Yes. We request that you wait until after the first few weeks of school.
We ask parents to send lunch boxes in the beginning to ease the transition
and make lunch go more smoothly. After a few weeks, when students are more
comfortable with school routines, we'll teach them the process for buying
lunch.
How do I pay for my child's lunch?
It is recommended to purchase a lunch ticket for your child ahead of time.
Please send your check or cash in a sealed envelope with your child's name
and teacher's name on it to the cafeteria in the morning before school
starts. Lunch tickets can be purchased for a week or even a month at a
time. This money will be placed in an account to be used as needed. Please
check with the cafeteria for your child's balance. You can also use PayPAMS
online to set up a lunch account for your child.
Will there be a Show and Tell?
Yes, usually every Friday. I ask that the students bring something that
correlates to our unit of study. Our monthly calendar/weekly newsletter
will keep you informed of our ongoing units. No toys, please.
Can I have lunch with my child?
Yes, although it is best to wait a few weeks. In the beginning we like
students to get used to the routine. We often find that seeing their
parents in the middle of the day causes a tearful separation after lunch
that is hard on both parent and child.
