About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
This is my 11th year to teach at Brushy Creek Elementary. I have a total of 19 years of teaching in Texas public schools, all in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. I received my BAT in Vocational Home Economics from Sam Houston State University, then later received additional certifications in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and ESL. I truly enjoy working with young children. I am married to a wonderful man, Les Huff. He is employed as the band director at St. Michael's Catholic Academy in Austin. For many years he was a professional musician and was one of the original Debonaires. He later played and sang for Lonesome Dove and Avenue C. Les continues to enjoy playing music and singing, farming, and renovating an old house. I have 2 grown children. My son William, 24, is a graduate of McNeil High School and is trained and certified to network and work on computers. He works for a publishing company in Austin and has plans to finish college. He has a fabulous view of Lake Austin from his boathouse windows and enjoys spending time with friends there. My daughter Aimee, 20, is also a graduate of McNeil High School and in January she will attend either Blinn College in Brenham or Texas Tech. She currently works at Target in the deli and bakery. She especially enjoys decorating cakes and playing games. Along with 2 human children, I also have 4 feline children, Prince, Lola, FouFou, and Sylvia. They are always working on improving their communication and social skills among themselves. This has been a challenging task for them but they keep trying. Along with teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping for clothes at Anthropologie and Ebay, working in the garden, traveling, decorating, painting, and sewing. Favorite Things: Anthropologie Clothes, Starbucks Coffee, Pale pink/cream or white/touch of green roses, things with crowns/tiaras on them, antiques, Bakery scented candles, scrapbook supplies, Teapots and cups, J.Crew, Juicy Couture, Ebay, Container Store, and Target
