Standard Procedures

Communication Folders: A plastic Badger PAK (Parents and Kids) folder
labeled with your child's name will go back and forth to home and school
each day. The Badger PAK will contain monthly homework calendar, parent-
teacher
communication, newsletters, graded work, and more. Please check the folder
each night; I will check the folders each morning. This routine will enable
us to communicate efficiently about your child's progress in school.

Homework: Monthly calendars containing our daily homework assignments will
be placed in the homework pouch. Please check your child’s homework calendar
daily and sign your initials- verifying that you have seen the assignment.
Homework is your child’s responsibility. The calendars should be kept in
the folder and returned to school each day.

Classroom Expectations: Our school has adopted five simple expectations for
all students.

1.)	Be in your assigned seat/area and ready to work when the bell rings.
2.)	Have paper, pencils, books, and all needed supplies everyday.
3.)	Keep hands, feet, books, and objects to yourself.
4.)	No cursing, rude gestures, teasing, or put downs.
5.)	Follow directions of School Personnel.

Monthly Newsletters: I will be sending a newsletter home each first Friday
that will explain what we are doing in class. If important news comes up
during the month, I will send a separate notice home at that time. My goal
is to bring any important news to you as soon as possible. The Newsletters
are available at this website!

Scholastic Book Orders: Book orders will be sent home at various times,
usually once per month. If you purchase books through Scholastic, our class
will receive points that will enable us to receive free books and materials
for our classroom library.

Birthdays: I welcome you to send in a snack for your child's birthday.
Please just let me know at least one day in advance. Drinks need to be 100%
Fruit Juice, Milk or Water. Summer birthdays will be celebrated with
a "Birthday Bash" in Early May. If birthday party invitations are to be
distributed at school, ALL children must receive one. If this is not doable,
please send invitations in the mail to avoid hurt feelings. I appreciate
your cooperation!

Box Tops for Education: Send these in at any time to earn money for our
classroom, encourage family members and friends to save for us too!

Medications: The school nurse will administer all medications. Please
contact the nurse if your child is to be given any medicine during school
hours. If your child has asthma, you may want to consider leaving a spare
inhaler with the nurse.

Notes: Notes are required for the following reasons:
		Absences/illness
		Early dismissal for doctor appointments
Different person picking student up from school

Arrival/Breakfast: The first bell rings at 7:55am, and your child will be
marked tardy after 8:00 am. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 – 7:45 am.
Students need to be finished with breakfast and ready to leave the cafeteria
by the first bell at 7:55. *Please Note: This year, tardiness counts against
qualification for Attendance Trips.

Lunch/Ice Cream: We eat lunch each day at 11:15. Please do not send money
with your child for ice cream until Friday. Friday is our special Ice Cream
Treat Day.

Dismissal: The children will be dismissed at 3:40pm to the buses. In case of
a child who is picked up-Your child will only be released to the people you
designate on the dismissal sheet or emergency card. All others will be
referred to the Office.

Thank you!
